## What it is
WhoGoHost Domain Transfer moves an existing domain from another registrar to WhoGoHost. A domain transfer moves only the domain name itself, not your website content or email data. When you transfer, you pay the yearly registration fee, which extends your domain by a year (for example, transferring a .net in June extends it to the following June). WhoGoHost offers free renewal for one year when you transfer in.

## Who it is for

## How it works
WhoGoHost completes transfers in 4 simple steps:
1. Prepare your domain for transfer. Back up your website and emails, get your Auth Code (EPP) from your current registrar, ensure the domain is unlocked, and confirm your registered address is up to date.
2. Start your transfer on whogohost.com. Search for your domain, click "Transfer", and if required select a hosting or email plan.
3. Confirm the transfer request. WhoGoHost sends a confirmation email and asks you to accept the Domain Registration Agreement, especially for common domains like .com or .net.
4. Enter your Auth Code (EPP) in your WhoGoHost account panel. WhoGoHost submits the request, and once approved by your current provider, your domain is moved over.

Transfers usually take 5 to 7 days, depending on the extension. Note: you cannot transfer a domain for 60 days after initial registration, a previous transfer, or certain registrant name changes.

## Common questions
### How long does a domain transfer take?
Domain transfers usually take 5 to 7 days to complete. The exact duration can depend on the domain extension.

### Do I lose the time left on my domain if I transfer?
No. Your current expiry date remains, and WhoGoHost adds an extra year of renewal at no extra charge.

### Does a domain transfer include my website and email?
No. A transfer moves only the domain name, not your website content or email data. You migrate your files and email accounts (with WhoGoHost tools and support) or rebuild your site on the platform.

### Will my website or email go down during the transfer?
No. Your nameservers stay the same during the transfer, so your website and email continue to work as usual.

### Can I transfer my domain and hosting together?
Yes. You can move only your domain, or both domain and hosting for a complete migration. The support team assists with site and email migration.
