How long does it take to get my domain working? Print

Once you make changes to your domain’s DNS, it usually takes around 24–48 hours for everything to fully propagate. Domain propagation is just the process of ISPs (Internet Service Providers) picking up and caching your updated DNS info.

Sometimes it happens within minutes, but it depends on your ISP. Some providers, like Comcast or Road Runner Cable, can take a week or more because their local routers refresh DNS at different speeds.

A little patience goes a long way, your domain will be fully live once the changes spread across the internet!
