How Saving Works in Website Builder Print

  • 1

Website Builder automatically saves your changes as you work. There is no manual Save button for standard page edits because all updates are continuously stored in the editor. You can close the editor and return later, and your work will still be there.

Important: Saving Is Not the Same as Publishing

Saving keeps your work in the editor—it does not make your changes visible to visitors. To update the live version of your website, you must publish your website.
To understand the difference, review how publishing works.

What Happens If You Close the Browser?

If your browser closes while editing:

  • Recent changes are typically saved automatically
  • When you reopen the editor, your work will still be there

However, always confirm that your updates are intact before leaving the page. You can safely edit your site after it is live without affecting the public version until you publish. Learn more about how to edit your site after it is live.

Blog Posts Require Manual Saving

Unlike standard page edits, blog posts must be saved manually:

  1. Click Save to store your post as a draft
  2. Publish the post when it is ready

Unsaved blog drafts may be lost if the browser closes before saving. When creating blog content, make sure to create blog posts and save drafts properly.

Summary

  • Page edits are saved automatically
  • Blog drafts require manual saving
  • Publishing is required to update the live website
