Documents Required for Organization Validation (OV) SSL Certificate
OV certificates display your verified company name in the certificate details. Here are the exact documents the Certificate Authority needs:
- Proof of Business Registration
- The CA will first search the CAC public directory. If your company appears there → no extra documents required.
- If not found or details are missing → submit:
– CAC Certificate of Incorporation
– CAC Form 2 (Statement of Share Capital)
– CAC Form 7 (Particulars of Directors)
→ All documents must be less than 13 months old.
- Choose one person (employee, director, attorney, etc.) as the applicant.
- Valid government-issued photo ID (front + back): International passport, Driver’s license, or NIMC National ID card (plastic card only).
- Authorization letter on official company letterhead stating:
– Applicant’s full name and role
– That they are authorized to obtain an OV SSL
→ Must be signed by a director. - No letter needed if the applicant is a director — we’ll verify their name in the CAC documents.
- Recent utility bill, invoice, or payment receipt clearly showing the company name and a date within the last 3–6 months.
Send everything to support@whogohost.com. Once the CA completes verification (usually 1–7 days), your OV SSL will be issued and installed automatically.
