You can add social media icons to your website using the Social Icons content element in the Website Builder editor. These icons allow visitors to click through to your social media profiles.
Social icons are added as a content block, so it helps to understand how content elements work before placing them on your page.
Steps to add social media icons
- Open the Website Builder editor
- Locate the Social Icons element in the left-hand panel
- Drag and drop the element onto your page
- Click the element to open its settings
- Enter the full URL for each social media profile (for example, https://facebook.com/yourpage)
- Remove any platforms you do not want to display
- Save your changes
Each icon functions as a clickable link, similar to how hyperlinks function.
Where to place social media icons
Social media icons are commonly placed in areas where visitors expect to find them, such as:
- The website header
- The footer
- A Contact or About page
You can position them anywhere you would normally add and edit other content elements, depending on your layout.
Mobile display behavior
Social media icons are responsive and will automatically adjust to different screen sizes. On mobile devices:
- Icons may stack or resize to fit smaller screens
- Spacing and alignment may change depending on the layout
It is recommended to preview your website on different screen sizes to ensure the icons display correctly.
Make your changes live
Adding social media icons in the editor does not automatically update your live website. After confirming your links and placement, you must publish your website to make the icons visible.
